Our Walnut Bridle is an English Bridle in Dark Brown. It looks like chocolate: deep and broody.

This understated finish may just end up being your favorite as it is one of ours'. With a velvety feel both inside and out, it's a true beauty. This is durable leather offers rich patinas which only better with age.

Quality:

Walnut Bridle is one of our thick 9 to 10 oz (3.6 to 4 mm) full grain leathers.
Full grain leather is much better than top grain, genuine, or bonded leather. Full grain is the most premium and durable cut one can buy. It's the only kind which contains unique markings and scars, making it highly sought after. Full grain fibers run more vertical, resulting in superior strength that may hold up for a 100 years of use, if properly maintained.

We use leather from North American cattle that has been carefully vegetable tanned right here in the USA. The tanning process has preserved the strength of the full grain fibers, and ensures durability and long life.

Process:

We hand cut the leather from large hides. Each piece is unique with different markings. You'll find that we do much more than our competitors:

- We case the leather to give the journal it's shape.
- We carefully punch the holes for the binding.
- We trim and burnish the edges by hand, compressing and binding the leather fibers.
- We apply a quality edge finish that gives long lasting protection and a smooth feel.
- We hand string the strong elastic cord and properly tension it.
- We engrave your name or logo on the bottom right, front cover (Leave us a note when you order).
- We package your journal in a nice cotton drawstring bag with zero waste packaging.

Often times, journal makers won't use thick leather like ours, because it requires these extra steps. But once you hold one of our BIG covers in your hands, you will appreciate the time and efforts to mold into a lasting keepsake and legacy.
